BAC and UN Botswana Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance SDGs. Botswana Accountancy College (BAC) has solidified its commitment to sustainable development by partnering with the United Nations in Botswana. The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into BAC’s academic programs, research, and community initiatives.

BAC’s Executive Director, Serty Leburu, highlighted the institution’s transition into a full-fledged business school and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving long-term impact. She noted that the partnership would focus on youth engagement, investment in SDGs, and applied research in digital transformation, economic growth, and climate change.

UN Regional Director Zia Choudhury called the partnership a vital step toward meaningful change, stressing that universities play a crucial role in driving sustainable development through education and innovation. He outlined plans to engage students and faculty in research, policy dialogues, and workshops to enhance SDG awareness and action

Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dintle P. Setlhotlhe, praised the initiative, reaffirming Botswana’s commitment to embedding SDGs into its national development agenda. She emphasized that education is a key driver of sustainability and pledged government support for BAC and the UN’s joint projects.

The collaboration marks a milestone in Botswana’s global sustainability efforts, positioning BAC as a leading academic institution in the pursuit of sustainable economic and social transformation.
