President Boko Joins High-Level Dialogue on Regional Trade at Africa Business Forum 2025. Botswana’s President Duma Gideon Boko participated in a high-profile presidential dialogue at the Africa Business Forum 2025 in Addis Ababa. The session, titled “Regional Value Chain Development Under the Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA),” focused on strengthening regional trade and economic collaboration across the continent.

The discussion was moderated by Ghana’s former President John Dramani Mahama and featured an esteemed panel of leaders and experts. Among them were Alexandre Barro Chambrier, Deputy Prime Minister of Gabon; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO); Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA); and Samaila Zubairu, President and CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).

The dialogue explored strategies for developing regional value chains under the AfCFTA framework, with an emphasis on enhancing intra-African trade, industrialization, and economic integration. The session provided a platform for leaders to exchange insights on how African economies can collaborate to strengthen production capabilities and create sustainable economic growth.

The Africa Business Forum 2025, held alongside the 38th African Union Summit, serves as a key event for fostering partnerships and advancing trade initiatives across the continent. The discussions reinforced the importance of coordinated efforts in achieving economic transformation through regional cooperation.
