BTC Donates P120,000 to Support Disaster Relief and Vulnerable Communities. Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) has stepped up to support disaster relief efforts and vulnerable communities, donating a total of P120,000 in cash and essential supplies.

BTC’s Acting CEO, Ms. Boitumelo Paya, accompanied by representatives from the BTC Employee Social Investment Movement, presented a P100,000 cash donation to the Private Sector Disaster Response Fund. This contribution is aimed at assisting relief initiatives and ensuring affected individuals receive necessary aid.

In addition to the monetary donation, BTC extended its support by donating P20,000 worth of food hampers to the Gaborone and Francistown City Councils. These hampers will be distributed to vulnerable communities struggling with food insecurity.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the beneficiaries were the Minister for the State President, Honourable Moeti Mohwasa, and Assistant Minister, Honourable Maipelo Mophuting.Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ms. Paya reaffirmed BTC’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

The Private Sector Disaster Response Fund plays a crucial role in mobilizing resources for emergency relief, ensuring timely assistance for affected individuals. The food donations to Gaborone and Francistown City Councils will help alleviate hunger among the most vulnerable members of society.
