Botswana’s Business Community Steps Up to Support Flood Victims. As communities across Botswana continue to grapple with the impact of recent floods, the business sector has stepped forward with substantial donations to aid those affected. Several companies have contributed financial assistance, essential supplies, and services to provide relief.

Leading the efforts, Bank of Baroda donated P100,000, along with 70 food hampers and 70 blankets. Unik Construction Engineering made a significant contribution of P1 million and 13,000 bottles of water. Access Bank pledged P250,000, while Jindal Africa donated P100,000.

Other essential contributions include 100 food hampers from Crown Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd, and AIP Botswana’s provision of a water bowser with 14,000 litres of water for affected families in Mochudi. Bulb World donated 100 bulbs and 100 food hampers, while Trans Africa contributed groceries valued at over P100,000.

Infrastructure support came from Prophalt Botswana, which pledged infra-red pothole repairs worth P100,000. Cherry Splash allocated P300,000 for fuel to assist with relief efforts.

Further donations included 150 blankets, 150 food combos, 100 chairs, 200 pairs of shoes, and 2,700 litres of still water from ATG Asante Tech Group. Gaborone University College of Law & Professional Studies (GUC) provided 100 food hampers, 50 blankets, one cow, two goats, and fresh produce. Suits Africa contributed stationery worth P16,000, while Galaxy Cash & Carry and Bagaetsho Medical Centre (Jwaneng) donated P20,500 in food hamper vouchers.

Additionally, Business Botswana, Black Oak, and Legae Academy provided sanitary items and food hampers worth P3,000.

These contributions highlight the strength of Botswana’s business community in times of crisis, reinforcing the importance of solidarity in disaster relief efforts.
