Botswana Showcases Business Events Tourism at Meetings Africa 2025. The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) is making a strong impression at Meetings Africa 2025, highlighting the country’s potential as a premier destination for business events tourism.
The event, which officially opened its trade floor today, provides a global platform for Botswana to engage with international buyers and industry leaders. The BTO stand has been a hub of activity, facilitating dynamic networking sessions and business meetings between exhibitors and global wholesalers.
A key moment of the day was the visit of Botswana’s Consul General in Johannesburg, Mr. Yandani Boko, who interacted with local operators showcasing under BTO’s umbrella. South African Minister of Tourism, Ms. Patricia De Lille, also visited the Botswana stand, where she and the Consul General briefly discussed Botswana’s diverse tourism offerings and its role in Africa’s business events industry.
As Meetings Africa 2025 comes to a close, Botswana’s delegation reflects on a productive event that saw over 410 exhibitors from 26 African countries engaging with approximately 300 buyers. BTO, alongside nine local operators, established valuable connections that are expected to strengthen Botswana’s business tourism sector.
The participation in Meetings Africa aligns with Botswana’s broader tourism strategy, positioning the country as a competitive player in the global business events market.
