Botswana Businesses Unite Through Donations to Support National Efforts. The spirit of corporate social responsibility was on full display today as multiple companies contributed donations to support ongoing national initiatives. The Assistant Minister for State President, Honourable Maipelo B. Mophuting, formally received contributions from 17 organisations representing various sectors.

Among the donations, Stanbic Bank provided the largest monetary contribution with P2 million, while Bokomo supported the cause with both food hampers and a P100,000 cash donation. Other financial contributions included P100,000 from ABSA Botswana, Flotek/Motovac Group, and Unik Construction, as well as P10,000 from Inq Digital and P5,000 from Protea Masa Hotel.

Several companies focused on essential supplies, with Pep Stores donating clothing and blankets, while the Dutch Reformed Church Phakalane branch contributed additional clothing. Legae English Medium School supported educational needs with stationery, and Afrivet provided knapsack sprayers.

A significant portion of the donations consisted of food hampers, supplied by Bokomo, Liberty Life, Bolux Group, Clover Botswana, Woolworths Botswana, A Sales & Distribution, PST Sales, and Kalahari Training Institute.

The donations will support ongoing social welfare activities, helping to address immediate community needs through the provision of food, clothing, educational materials, and financial resources.

Botswana’s business community has consistently played a role in national development efforts, and today’s handover further reinforces the impact of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
