FNBB Strengthens Commitment to Financial Inclusion and Business Growth. First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) has reiterated its focus on promoting financial inclusion and supporting economic development through innovative banking solutions and community initiatives. Speaking on the bank’s ongoing strategy, Dr. Mbako Mbo, Chief Financial Officer at FNBB, highlighted the institution’s dedication to shared prosperity across Botswana.
Dr. Mbo pointed to the bank’s response to the discontinuation of cheques, which prompted a shift toward secure, digital payment alternatives. Among these solutions is eWallet Pro, a platform designed to help businesses manage payments efficiently and safely. Since its introduction, eWallet Pro has facilitated over 27,000 transactions, benefiting 357 businesses by providing a streamlined, cashless payment option.
“This is just one of the many innovations we have introduced to empower Batswana with accessible financial tools,” Dr. Mbo said. “We are focused on enhancing convenience and ensuring businesses have reliable options to support their operations.”
FNBB’s commitment extends beyond digital solutions. The bank continues to advance financial inclusion through initiatives such as CashPlus, which increases access to banking services, and targeted support programmes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In addition, FNBB remains active in community development through strategic sponsorships aimed at promoting long-term, sustainable growth.
By investing in sustainable finance, strengthening support for local businesses, and driving community-focused initiatives, FNBB continues to position itself as a key player in Botswana’s economic progress.
