Norma Nlanda: Empowering Natural Beauty Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship. At just 29 years old, Norma Nlanda is making notable strides in Botswana’s entrepreneurship landscape. With a strong passion for business, creativity, and the arts, Norma has founded two ventures that promote natural beauty while contributing to the local economy.

Norma holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Public Administration from the University of Botswana and a Diploma in Natural Cosmetics Formulation. In 2019, she launched Asali Beauty, a company specialising in natural cosmetic products designed to celebrate and preserve the African heritage of melanated skin and natural hair. Building on this success, she established Asali Beauty Institute in 2022, offering professional training in natural hair care formulation.

Her commitment to innovation and quality has not gone unnoticed. Norma was selected as a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellowship participant and attended the Forbes Africa Under 30 Summit in both 2023 and 2024, providing her with opportunities to engage with influential leaders and expand her entrepreneurial expertise.

Beyond her business ventures, Norma plays an active role in industry development. She is a member of the International Leadership Association (ILA) and a founding member of the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) Cosmetics Technical Committee, contributing to setting standards in the cosmetics sector.

Through Asali Beauty, Norma aims to empower individuals with high-quality, natural beauty products. Her mission is to uphold the African legacy of natural beauty, with a vision of making Asali Beauty a globally recognised brand.

Asali Beauty’s product range includes a variety of natural hair care solutions, such as the Asali Sulphate Free Herbal Cleanser, Asali Mango & Almond Moisturizing Crème, and Asali Ayurvedic Hair Tea, available in both regular and travel sizes.
