Eswatini Delegation Studies Botswana’s Accommodation Grading System. A delegation from the Eswatini Tourism Authority is currently in Botswana as part of an official visit to learn about the country’s accommodation grading system. The visit is focused on understanding how grading standards are applied across various types of establishments.
On the second day of their tour, the delegation visited several accommodation facilities, including EnE Boutique Suites, Boiketlo Lodge, and MSA Hotel. These establishments hold different grading ratings, providing the delegation with insights into Botswana’s approach to evaluating service quality. The group also visited self-catering accommodations such as City Mews and Khayalame Apartments to observe the grading criteria applied to these property types.
The delegation was accompanied by Tourism Industry Training Coordinator Ms. Anno Thatayaone Sebego and Grading Officer Ms. Felicia Maruping. According to the organizers, the visits are designed to give the delegation direct exposure to graded accommodation services and how they are managed in Botswana.
Through this engagement, the Eswatini Tourism Authority aims to gather information that may assist in developing or improving Eswatini’s own accommodation grading system. The knowledge exchange is intended to support efforts to maintain quality standards in tourism services.
The visit forms part of an ongoing itinerary that continues tomorrow, with planned stops at various service hotels in the morning. In the afternoon, the delegation is scheduled to participate in a game drive at Mokolodi Nature Reserve.
