Bagpiper Expands Local Beverage Manufacturing, Eyes Regional Growth. Bagpiper, a locally owned beverage and dairy products manufacturer, is making strides in Botswana’s food production industry. Based in Block 3 Industrial, Gaborone, the company produces a diverse range of products, including cordials, dairy blends, fruit concentrates, vinegar, lemon juice, bottled water, sports drinks, and madila (sour milk).

Employing over 40 Batswana—primarily youth—Bagpiper has positioned itself as a key player in the local manufacturing sector. Its primary client, Choppies Supermarkets, distributes its products across Botswana and select Southern African Development Community (SADC) markets, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

One of Bagpiper’s standout products is madila, introduced in 2023. The company produces approximately 4,000 liters daily, sourcing milk from local dairy farms and using pasteurized milk to ensure quality and safety. Given the growing demand, Bagpiper sees an opportunity to expand its production capacity and broaden its distribution network to include other major retailers in Botswana.

Bagpiper adheres to stringent food safety and quality standards, ensuring that every product meets regulatory requirements. The company continues to invest in research and innovation to enhance product quality and diversify its offerings.
