Botswana Strengthens U.S. Business Ties in Los Angeles Roundtable. Botswana President Duma Boko engaged with U.S. business leaders and investors at a high-level business breakfast roundtable in Los Angeles, aiming to strengthen trade, investment, and economic partnerships between Botswana and the United States.

During the discussions, President Boko highlighted Botswana’s investment potential, emphasizing key sectors such as infrastructure, the green economy, and digitization. He underscored the country’s commitment to economic diversification beyond diamonds, positioning Botswana as an attractive destination for global investors.

Maria Salinas, CEO of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, acknowledged the role of strategic partnerships and innovation in driving economic growth. The meeting reaffirmed Botswana’s standing as a dynamic and business-ready economy, fostering interest from international investors.

President Boko’s visit to the U.S. also coincided with the anticipated launch of BoTSAT-1, Botswana’s first satellite. However, the launch has been rescheduled due to adjustments in SpaceX’s mission timeline.

The engagement in Los Angeles aligns with Botswana’s broader strategy to enhance global business relations, attract foreign direct investment, and create sustainable economic opportunities. As the country advances its diversification efforts, partnerships with global investors remain crucial to fostering long-term economic growth.
