Keletsositse Olebile Moderates Panel on Business Efficiency and Innovation at High-Level Forum. Keletsositse Olebile, CEO of the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre, moderated a key panel discussion on “Enhancing Business Efficiency & Innovation” at the High-Level Business Engagement Forum. The discussion brought together industry leaders to explore strategies for strengthening Botswana’s business environment through digital transformation, policy reforms, and innovation.

Among the panelists was Sammy Mutua, Group Chief Digital & Data Officer, who underscored the need to develop local talent and transition from theoretical knowledge to practical implementation. He highlighted the public sector’s role in bridging this gap through collaboration with the government.

Harriet Mlalazi, Director at Rand Merchant Bank Botswana, emphasized the necessity of designing solutions that cater to both individuals and corporations. She advocated for positioning Botswana as a regional business hub, noting that such a hub cannot afford to shut down operations at 5 PM. She also addressed the challenge of high data costs, despite strong internet adoption in the country.

Moemedi Malindah, CEO of Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund, and Charles Siwawa, CEO of Botswana Chamber of Mines, shared insights on improving business efficiency and fostering innovation across industries.

Olebile also spoke about the critical role of data accessibility and protection, stressing the importance of Botswana’s evolving data protection laws in fostering a secure and competitive digital economy.

The session provided valuable perspectives on leveraging digital solutions, policy adjustments, and innovation to drive economic growth, reinforcing Botswana’s commitment to creating a dynamic business environment.
