Botswana Meat Commission Appoints Kesolofetse Tibe as Acting CEO. The Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) has announced the appointment of Kesolofetse Mmabasotho Tibe as its Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. This follows the resignation of former CEO David Tshobogang on January 31, 2025.

The BMC Board emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and continuity within the organization, leading to Tibe’s interim appointment while the search for a permanent CEO is underway. With a strong background in finance and management, Tibe is expected to steer the organization forward during this transitional period.

Tibe, a Chartered Accountant, joined BMC in January 2022 as Finance Manager before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer in January 2023. Her rise within the organization highlights her leadership capabilities and financial expertise.

Bringing over 27 years of experience in corporate finance and management across different sectors, Tibe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from the University of Botswana (1996). She is also a member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Additionally, she recently completed the Executive Development Programme (EDP) at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2024.

The BMC Board and management have expressed confidence in Tibe’s ability to lead the organization effectively during this period. Her appointment comes at a crucial time for BMC, as it continues to focus on strengthening Botswana’s meat industry and expanding market opportunities.
