BTC Participates in Cheque Handover to Support Private Sector Disaster Response Fund. On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) joined other private sector representatives at a cheque handover ceremony for the Private Sector Disaster Response Fund. The event, organized by Business Botswana, aimed to provide an update on the fund’s status, acknowledge member contributions, and facilitate the official handover of donations.

Representing BTC at the event was Acting Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Abel Bogatsu. BTC, along with other contributing organizations, reaffirmed its support for national disaster preparedness and relief efforts, highlighting the role of the private sector in strengthening community resilience during emergencies.

Private Sector Disaster Response Fund was established to coordinate financial support from businesses in response to natural disasters and other emergencies affecting communities across Botswana. Through this fund, Business Botswana works closely with relevant authorities to ensure that contributions are used efficiently to provide timely assistance where it is most needed.

During the event, Business Botswana shared an update on the fund’s progress, outlining recent activities and the impact of contributions made by member organizations. The engagement also served as a platform to thank businesses for their ongoing support and to encourage continued collaboration in strengthening national disaster response capacity.

BTC’s involvement in the handover reflects its broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote national well-being and stability.
