Business Botswana Mobilizes Support for Flood-Affected Communities. Business Botswana has pledged its support to communities affected by the ongoing heavy rains and flooding across the country. A delegation from the organization met with Minister for State President Hon. Moeti C. Mohwasa to express their commitment to assisting in disaster relief efforts.
Business Botswana President Mr. Neo Nwako stated that the organization will collaborate with the National Disaster Management Committee to address the challenges caused by the floods. He emphasized that Business Botswana’s Business Councils, which are spread across the country, will work closely with District Commissioners and Village Development Committees to implement relief measures efficiently.
As part of the initiative, Business Botswana plans to launch a disaster relief fund and will share account details through various media platforms to encourage donations. Mr. Nwako urged the business community to contribute in any way possible, whether through financial support, material aid, or the provision of machinery and equipment to assist in clearing flood-related blockages.
Minister Mohwasa expressed gratitude to Business Botswana for its commitment to supporting affected communities. He acknowledged the role of the business sector in strengthening national disaster response efforts.
Assistant Minister for State President Hon. Maipelo B. Mophuting also extended appreciation to security forces and citizens who have been actively involved in relief efforts. She highlighted that the unity and generosity displayed by Batswana reflect the country’s strong communal spirit in times of crisis.
