FNBB Foundation Launches Scholarship for Top Achievers in Remote Areas. The First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) Foundation has introduced the Remote Area Dweller Programme (RADP) Top Achievers Scholarship, an initiative aimed at providing talented students from Botswana’s remote communities with access to quality secondary education.
The foundation has allocated P1.45 million to this pilot programme, which will support five high-performing Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) students from the Okavango, Tsabong, Hukuntsi, Mabutsane, and Charleshill Districts. The scholarship covers a five-year period at Delta Waters International School, fully funding tuition, boarding fees, transportation, sports activities, and school uniforms.
Beyond financial support, the programme seeks to immerse learners in an academically stimulating environment that encourages excellence and personal growth. FNBB Foundation will closely monitor the initiative’s impact, with the potential for future expansion.
During the launch event, Dr. Kekgonne Baipoledi, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education, commended the FNBB Foundation for its role in advancing educational opportunities. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, have the chance to succeed.
Dr. Baipoledi also encouraged scholarship recipients to make the most of this opportunity to create a positive impact on their communities. The FNBB Foundation continues to focus on educational empowerment, anticipating that the scholarship will help shape future leaders and contribute to Botswana’s long-term development.
