Major General Hendrick Thuthu Rakgantswana, a seasoned aviation and defense professional with over 30 years of experience, was appointed to the CAAB Board on May 1, 2021. He currently serves as the Air Arm Commander in the Botswana Defence Force (BDF), where he has held numerous key leadership roles including Air Base Commander, Director of Air Operations, Squadron Commander, and Head of VIP Operations for Presidential Flights.

An expert in aviation command and military strategy, Major General Rakgantswana is a graduate of the University of Nairobi, specializing in International Studies. His expertise spans Diplomacy and International Relations, Strategic and Warfare Planning, National Security, and Corporate Aircraft Operations. He is also qualified as a Military Air Transport Captain and VVIP Captain with extensive experience in International Procedures.

Throughout his career, Major General Rakgantswana has trained and collaborated with institutions in Canada, the United States, India, and Tanzania. He has participated in several regional and international military exercises and continues to contribute to various global working committees.
