NACB and Estonia Delegation Explore Collaboration in Arts and Culture. National Arts Council of Botswana (NACB) Executive Management team, led by Acting CEO Ms. Otsetswe K. Koboyankwe, met with a delegation from the Republic of Estonia on Monday, 4 March 2025, to explore opportunities for cooperation in the creative and cultural industries.
The Estonian delegation was headed by Ms. Kristiina Allksaar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of Estonia, alongside Ms. Madli Kumpas, Coordinator of the Education and Science Programme at the Estonian National Commission for UNESCO. The meeting provided a platform for both parties to discuss possible areas of collaboration that could benefit the arts sectors in Botswana and Estonia.
Estonia is known for its vibrant cultural landscape, blending indigenous heritage with Nordic traditions. During the discussions, the Estonian representatives shared insights into their cultural initiatives and expressed interest in knowledge exchange, which could support the development of creative industries in both countries.
The NACB highlighted the potential of Botswana’s arts and culture sector and emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in fostering its growth. By working with international stakeholders, such as Estonia, NACB aims to create opportunities that will promote local talent and strengthen Botswana’s presence on the global cultural stage.
This engagement forms part of the NACB’s ongoing efforts to build relationships that can unlock new possibilities for Botswana’s creative community. The Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the arts through regional and international collaborations that encourage innovation and sustainability in the sector.
