OLDM and Business Partners Donate Furniture and Supplies to Motsumi Junior Secondary School. Employees from Orapa, Letlhakane, and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM), in collaboration with Business Partners, have donated 276 tables, chairs, and 97 blankets worth P250,000 to Motsumi Junior Secondary School in Letlhakane. This initiative is part of OLDM’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational resources and improve learning conditions in the Boteti District.
The latest donation follows a series of community support projects by OLDM employees and Business Partners:January 2025 – Makalamabedi Junior Secondary School received 89 mattresses, 300 sanitary towels, and 50 Mbps modems.March 2025 – Security employees and partners donated sanitary and toiletry supplies to 216 students in Xere Village and helped establish a recreational park.Toromoja Village received supplies for 304 students.Mmea Primary School was gifted a photocopying machine and A4 paper by OLDM’s Health Services team.Mosu Primary School’s top students received P1,000 cash prizes from Orapa Mining Learner Officials.
Ms. Dineo Seleke, OLDM Senior Corporate Affairs Manager, emphasized that these donations aim to address furniture shortages and enhance school facilities. She highlighted that the initiative aligns with Debswana’s Employee Volunteerism program, which encourages employees to contribute resources and skills to uplift local communities.
CPP Botswana Managing Director, Mr. Kobamelo Kgoboko, commended the collaboration, noting that such initiatives significantly boost student morale and academic performance.
In his remarks, Motsumi JSS Headteacher, Mr. Godfrey Shabane, expressed appreciation for the support, emphasizing its positive impact on the school’s learning environment.
