Phatsima Innovation Enhancing Botswana’s Natural Resources Through Value Addition. Phatsima Innovation is a Botswana-based company focused on adding value to the country’s natural resources by producing and packaging a variety of Moringa-based products. These include tea, powder, soap, seed oil, and hair food. The company is committed to improving lives while driving innovation in the local market.

The company is led by Ms. Matshediso, an experienced Analytical Chemist with a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Witwatersrand. Her research focused on extracting essential compounds from the Moringa Oleifera plant, highlighting its high nutritional value and potential to combat malnutrition. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree at the University of South Africa, further advancing her expertise in plant-based solutions.

In addition to Moringa, Ms. Matshediso has extended her research into the sour plum, scientifically known as Ximenia species, a fruit native to Botswana and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. This has allowed Phatsima Innovation to expand its product range, introducing body creams, hand creams, soaps, and juices derived from locally available natural ingredients. By leveraging indigenous plants, the company is promoting economic growth while offering health-conscious consumers high-quality, natural alternatives.

Phatsima Innovation’s products are available at the #PushaBW Store located at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA) in Gaborone, Square Mart supermarket, and several local pharmacies across Botswana. The company continues to play a crucial role in supporting sustainability, economic development, and health awareness through the innovative use of Botswana’s rich natural resources.
