President Advocate Duma Boko has reaffirmed Botswana’s enduring ties with China, describing their relationship as a “joint vision for a shared future.” His remarks came during a courtesy call from Mr. Shao Hong, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), at the Office of the President yesterday.

Highlighting the significance of their partnership, President Boko commended the strong diplomatic relations that have flourished between the two nations over the past five decades. He noted that Botswana and China’s shared history has been marked by consistent collaboration and mutual respect.

“Botswana and China continue to enjoy warm and cordial relations spanning a period of over 50 years,” President Boko said. “During that period, the two countries have worked closely together through the exchange of official visits.”

The President emphasized that high-level visits have played a pivotal role in enhancing ties between the nations. He acknowledged the precedent set by previous Botswana leaders who engaged in state visits to China, which further cemented the bilateral relationship.

This partnership has facilitated not only political dialogue but also cooperation in various fields, underscoring the commitment of both countries to foster a prosperous and collaborative future.

The President’s reaffirmation of Botswana’s longstanding friendship with China reflects a broader vision of strengthening partnerships that are rooted in shared values and mutual development goals.
