Property Sale in Gaborone International Commerce Park Approved. The Competition and Consumer Authority (CCA) has granted unconditional approval for Brangus Botswana (Pty) Ltd to acquire a light industrial property in Gaborone International Commerce Park from Mont Trade (Pty) Ltd. The transaction, assessed under the Competition Act 2018, was determined not to pose any competition concerns
Brangus Botswana is a property holding company that specializes in purchasing and leasing industrial properties. Its portfolio includes five industrial properties in Gaborone. Mont Trade, on the other hand, operates in agriculture-related businesses, including manufacturing and retail of animal feeds, poultry equipment, tractors, and farming implements, with stores in Gaborone, Francistown, and Palapye.
The property being sold—Portion 62, a part of Farm Forest Hill No.9-Ko—is classified as light industrial property and is currently owned by Mont Trade.
Although both companies own industrial properties in Gaborone, the competition impact is minimal due to the high number of industrial properties available in the market. The CCA determined that the transaction would not substantially lessen competition or disrupt service continuity in Botswana.
