Mr. Thabo P. Thamane has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) in Botswana since January 1, 2011. Prior to this role, he served as Deputy CEO (Operations) at CEDA, where he has been employed since 2003, advancing through various management positions.
Mr. Thamane holds an MBA specializing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from York St. John University. He is also an alumnus of the University of Botswana, London Business School, and Wits Business School.
In June 2019, Mr. Thamane was elected Chairman of the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), a position he was re-elected to in June 2021. As AADFI Chairman, he also serves as Chairman of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions (WFDFI).
Beyond his role at CEDA, Mr. Thamane contributes to various organizations. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Norsad Finance Limited and is a Board Member of the Botswana Tourism Organisation. Additionally, he is the Chair of the Executive Board of The Botswana Society.
Mr. Thamane is currently pursuing a Doctor of Arts in Business Administration and Management at Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, with expected completion in December 2023.
